100th Post Contest!

I just realized that my tiny little post the other day was my 100th post! Have I really posted that much? What a lame 100th post. So anyway, it seems appropriate that to celebrate 100 posts, I have a contest. Recently, I acquired (ok. Scrounged out of the orphan basket) 8 44 yard skeins of Silky Cashmere by Elsebeth Lavold. It's lovely stuff but I'm at a loss as to what to do with it. I need suggestions! I need the vast knitting knowledge of patterns that many of you bloggers hold! I need to know how many people actually read my blog! Oh wait. Not really. Anyway, from those suggestions, I will randomly have my 2 year or 4 year old (depending on who's most cooperative) pick out a winner. And what shall they receive Vanna? Two balls of Knitpicks Dancing sock yarn! (Hey. It could've been a bunch of Fun Fur. No really. I have heaps from a dollar sale at Big Lots when I first started knitting.)

(Seriously, if anybody wants that fun fur, let me know. Heh.)

I think you should make the forest canopy shawl. :)

I'm not sure what you should make with that, but it's gorgeous! What ever you make will be great :)

That yarn would make a wonderfully soft and luxurious neckwarmer!

Ooh, I think a clapotis would look beautiful with that! That is what I really want to make right now, so I am trying to force it on everyone else! ;) Really though, anything would be beautiful with that yarn!

a beautiful lacy scarf is what I'd make...just beautiful!

You'd make so many friends if you made deliciously soft mittens or Fetchings with cashmere yarn and gave them as Christmas gifts!

How about Muir in the new issue of Knitty?

A quick search on Ravelry has only four projects in that yarn. A cabley scarf, a hat, a bubble sleeve jacket (??) and my choice:
Fetching (from knitty.com).

Fetching would probably only be a one skein-er but think of all the lovely Xmas gifts!

Clapotis - yes, good choice, too.

If you want to knit something for yourself, how about a sweet, beaded cami or something from Lingerie Knitting? If it for someone else, I still like the idea of the cami.

What about a knitted belt/waist warmer thing? Those really wide things that you wear over the top of a fitted shirt.

Fingerless gloves. I made a pair last year and they are amazing. Everyone should have a pair, and black would match everything!! :)

I think a thick squishy scarf would great. Possible patterns: Irish Hiking Scarf (helloyarn), Backyard Leaves (Scarf Style), Wavy (from Knitty)

You are too funny!!!

I know the contest is over but I just have to say I think you should make something really simple for your next project.

Like a fun fur scarf :-) LOL!
